Introducing Resmo Agent (Beta) 🔎 💻

We're super excited to introduce the Resmo Agent, now in beta, currently available for MacOS only. This innovative on-host tool is designed to capture employee SaaS logins directly from their devices. Visit documentation for details.

Key Features

  • HTTPS Request Capturing: Proxies HTTPS requests with a self-signed certificate to capture and inform Resmo of login activities.
  • Password Strength Assessment: Evaluates password strength based on customer-defined policies, ensuring compliance without transmitting actual passwords.
  • Unauthorized App Notifications: Alerts users when they attempt to access apps marked as "Unauthorized" within Resmo, enhancing control over software usage.
  • Login Capture: Tracks requests containing usernames/email addresses; supports hash sending for reused password detection.
  • Agent Syncing: Maintains up-to-date configurations and unauthorized app lists with server synchronization every 15 minutes.

Current Limitations

  • Available on MacOS only.
  • Does not capture SSO logins or support domain blocking.
  • AWS SDK may encounter certificate verification issues.

Installation: As a beta offering, the Resmo Agent is available through Resmo support, which will provide an installation package and guide you through the setup process.

Block Specific Unauthorized Domains with Resmo Browser Extension 🚩

We've added a cool feature to the Resmo Browser Extension to keep your digital workspace safer. Here’s what’s new:

Block Unwanted Sites

Admins Can Set Rules: Now, you can list websites you don't want anyone visiting on work browsers and Resmo will block them in 15 mins. It’s that simple.

How You’re Notified: When someone tries to visit a blocked site, they can get a quick heads-up with a banner or a more noticeable full-page message. Your choice.

Here's a blocked domain example with a banner message.

Why It’s Great 🤟

It keeps risky sites away from your work environment, reducing the chance of running into security issues like malware or phishing.

Getting Started Is Easy

Go to Your Settings: Find the Browser Extension settings in Resmo.

List Sites to Block: Add any websites you want to keep off-limits.

Pick Your Alert Style: Choose between a banner or full-page notice for blocked sites.

This update is all about making your workplace safer without extra hassle. Give it a try and let us know what you think!

⏱️ Automated Team Sync

Keep your Resmo teams automatically updated with your Google Workspace or Azure AD groups. Just turn on the "Sync" option, and Resmo will handle the rest, making sure your team's members are always up-to-date.

🪄 Manual Team Creation Still Available

Prefer to set up your teams yourself? No problem. You can still manually create teams, pick a team lead, and add members yourself. It’s flexible to fit how you work.

How to Get Started

1. Go to Teams from Settings.

2. Create your team by adding users manually or turn the Sync toggle on and select Google or Azure AD groups to automatically sync your teams.

Manual App Addition and Management 🚀

Exciting update onboard! 🤯 Users can now add new applications manually to their Apps dashboard.

  • Easily update manually added apps directly from their detail page.
  • Convert unidentified apps found in the OAuth App Review page under the Apps tab into manual apps.

Why It Matters

  • Manual addition ensures that any app not automatically detected is still included in the inventory for monitoring and management.
  • Custom Data Entry: There might be specific details or context about an app that automated tools don't capture. Manual addition allows for the inclusion of this customized information, which can be crucial for understanding the app's role and risk within the organization.
  • Immediate Inclusion of New Apps: When a team starts using a new app, there might be a lag before it's detected by automated tools. Manual addition allows for immediate inclusion and monitoring, ensuring there's no gap in security coverage.

Explore these new features by visiting the Apps tab in your Resmo dashboard 🤩

Introducing Resource Changes Filter on Audit Logs 🪄

We've added a 'Type' filter to Audit Logs. This new filter works alongside the existing ones like Actor and Actions, enabling more specific searches in your activity logs.

With the a separate view for Resource Changes, you can specifically focus on and analyze changes made to your resources such as:

  • ➖ Removed
  • 🔄 Modified
  • ➕ Added

with their date, activity type, and actor information across your integrated SaaS applications.

Detailed Change Difference Data: When you click on a resource change, you'll see the exact modifications made. This feature gives you a direct and precise understanding of each change.

To try out this new improvement, head over to your Audit Logs page and filter by Type. Note that the Audit Logs works if you have integrations set in place.
